Duck Harbor tips: what to do when the board gets stuck

A Duck Harbor board gets stuck when every berth holds a boat that no duck in the stream can board. Whether that happens is decided by the boats you docked before it, so dock boats whose ducks are already on the way and keep a berth empty for as long as you can.

Why the board gets stuck

Berths are limited, and a docked boat keeps its berth until ducks of its color fill it. The usual way to lose is docking a boat whose color is not coming around the stream yet. It takes up a berth, the next boat has nowhere to go, and the ducks that are circling have nothing to board.

Read the stream before you tap

  • Look at the colors circling in the stream and at the ducks lined up to come in next.
  • Pick a boat whose color you can already see coming.
  • Tapping a boat whose path is blocked costs you nothing. It bumps and slides back, so you can use it to check which boats can move.
  • While you wait for the next ducks, hold an empty spot to speed up.

Where a boat docks matters

A boat always goes to the rightmost empty berth. When two docked boats share a color, the one further right fills first. Docking a second boat of the same color can pull ducks away from the boat that was already waiting, so the moment you tap can change how the board plays out.

If you are already stuck

  • Use a tool if you have one. The Whistle fills every docked boat with ducks of its color and sends them off, which clears the dock.
  • The Net sends one color of ducks to the back of the line, and the Crane lifts a blocked boat to an empty berth.
  • If you see a locked berth, open it for more room before every berth is taken.
  • Start the level again. There are no lives, so you can retry as often as you like.
