About visit statistics
This page explains the visit statistics of the Duck Harbor website. What the app itself handles is described separately in the app privacy policy.
What we count
- The page you view and where you came from (another site's name, or a campaign tag on the link)
- Whether you read a guide to the end (and how long the page had been on screen by then), and whether you tapped an app download button
- Your country, a rough device type (Android, iPhone, computer), and whether you used an in-app browser
Individual records are deleted after 90 days; only daily totals are kept.
What we do not do
- No cookies. Nothing is stored on your device. The only thing read from it is whether the operator has switched on a mark that leaves their own device out of the count.
- We do not recognize visitors. We make no visitor number and collect nothing that singles out your device, so if you come back we cannot tell it is you.
- Your IP address is not stored. It is used only to find your country, block excessive requests, and tell automated visits and our own visits apart, and it is cleared within minutes.
- We do not link this to your activity on other sites, and we do not sell it or hand it to other companies.
Why
To see, as daily totals, which guides people read and whether readers go on to download the app. We use it for nothing else. The basis is our legitimate interest in running the site; for visitors in the EU and the UK, that is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
If you prefer not to be counted
You can turn off JavaScript, or block these statistics with a content blocker. The site works the same.
Contact
DeepCraft, contact@deepcraft.app. Because we do not recognize visitors, we cannot look up the record of a particular visit. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
